Boiling water tap installation
A boiling water tap replaces the kettle with instant boiling water from a tap, fed by a small tank under the sink. A neat installation needs a few things in place, which we check before the day:
- Space in the sink cupboard for the tank and any filter.
- An electrical socket under the sink to power the tank, installed by an electrician if one is not already there.
- A suitable cold water supply and, for combination taps, hot water connections.
- A correctly sized hole in the worktop or sink for the tap.
We fit the tap and tank, connect the water supplies, flush and commission the system, and show you how the safety handle and settings work.
Quooker service and repair
London has hard water, and limescale is the most common reason a boiling water tap slows down, spits or stops reaching temperature. A service follows the manufacturer's maintenance schedule, which can include descaling, replacing the filter cartridge where fitted, and checking the tank's valves and connections.
Common faults we see
- Water not boiling or taking a long time to heat.
- Spitting, sputtering or reduced flow from the tap.
- Water dripping from the tank's pressure relief valve under the sink.
- Leaks at the tap connections.
